At its June 29 meeting, the Board of California Arts Advocates elected Debra Lucero (left) and Danielle Whitmore to join the Board. Debra is Executive Director of Shasta County Arts Council in Redding & Friends of the Arts – Upstate in Butte County. Both are State-Local Partners of the California Arts Council. Dani has been Executive Director for over ten years of YoloArts in Woodland, the State-Local Partner for Yolo County with the California Arts Council. She has just been appointed Executive Director of Blue Line Arts in Roseville. “CAA continues to expand its Board in an effort to ensure that it successfully represents the diversity of our large state,” commented CAA President Richard Stein. “Debra Lucero manages not one, but two rural upstate State-Local Partner organizations and she was instrumental in creating True North Arts, Culture & Media Alliance, a five-county consortium (Siskiyou, Shasta, Trinity, Tehama and Butte counties) that recently received regional network designation from the California Arts Council. Dani is a seasoned arts leader rooted in the rural areas of the Capital district. Both Debra and Dani bring to our Board substantial advocacy experience that will help us continue to advance the mission of California Arts Advocates.”
