Americans for the Arts announced on May 25 the recipients of the 2016 Americans for the Arts Annual Leadership Awards. It is our pleasure to report that Brad Erickson—Executive Director for Theatre Bay Area, Treasurer of Californians for the Arts and California Arts Advocates, and Immediate Past President of the SAAN Council—is the 2016 recipient of the Alene Valkanas State Arts Advocacy Award. Since 2007, the Alene Valkanas State Arts Advocacy Award has honored an individual whose arts advocacy efforts have dramatically affected the political landscape at the state level. Through his leadership at Theatre Bay Area, Californians for the Arts, and California Arts Advocates, Brad has lead efforts to support, promote, and advocate for California’s vibrant arts community. Brad will be presented with his award at the Americans for the Arts 2016 Annual Convention in Boston during on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m
